We embed sustainability in everything we do. For us, sustainability means taking into account the impacts we have across the value chain - in terms of the environment, social responsibility, employees and corporate governance.

Packaging and sustainability - Protecting and preserving valuable goods

Before packaging becomes waste, it plays an essential role by protecting the valuable contents throughout the supply chain and enabling proper and safe delivery to the end consumer. Flexible packaging is designed to minimize the use of packaging materials and is therefore generally more resource efficient than other types of packaging. The share of flexible packaging in the total ecological footprint (e.g. of a food product) is small, but it plays a major role in the the shelf life. Therefore, insufficient or inappropriate packaging would increase the total footprint enormously. Flexible packaging with tailor-made barrier protection and appropriate portioning therefore reduce the risk of (food) waste and save more resources than they consume.

Our goal is to minimize the negative impact of our operations and products on the environment while maximizing the positive impact for our customers, consumers and society.

RATTPACK® Flexibles goes green:

In flexible packaging, too, we have taken a big step towards the

sustainable packaging. Thanks to ISCC certification, we can now use recycled films and thus design packaging that is even more sustainable. ISCC stands for "International Sustainability & Carbon Certification." The mass balance procedure enables us to minimise technical risks and always meet customer requirements. Through the certification, the entire value chain is transparent.

This is an important step. With this, we are leaving the linear economy and can now make a certified contribution to the circular economy. This is the first step in the new sustainability strategy of the Flexibles, in which many more goals & measures will be set.

RATTPACK® Packaging FSC®

FSC® stands for "Forest Stewardship Council®". It is an international certification system for sustainable forestry and forest management. Certification with the FSC® enables us to make an important important contribution to responsible recycling management.

Not only that our products are recyclable, but also a sustainable reforestation of the forests is thus guaranteed. The sources are checked by an independent inspection body and the manufacturing processes are standardized.
