Teaching career path: from laboratory to manager

My name is Pascal Meusburger and I have been Head of Research & Development (R&D for short) at RATTPACK® Flexibles since 2023.

When I realized in 2005 that a secondary school was probably not the right choice for me, I applied for an apprenticeship in the office at the then PAWAG in Wolfurt. At the interview, I was told very quickly by the training managers at the time that they saw potential in me for a different area.

After two trial days, it was clear that it was a good fit - and so I started my apprenticeship as a laboratory technician in September 2005.

After 3.5 exciting and challenging years as an apprentice and my military service in the army, I moved to the R&D department in 2010. In the years that followed, I was able to gradually build up the necessary know-how. I was lucky enough to be able to draw on the knowledge of our experienced colleagues - and to have many opportunities for further training through courses and seminars.

At the same time, I was given the confidence and time to grow with my tasks. Whereas at the beginning I couldn't imagine having conversations with customers or suppliers, today it has become a matter of course. become a matter of course.

In 2015, I was able to take over apprentice training in addition to my R&D activities and later also the management of our QA laboratory. The next big step followed in 2023: taking over the management of the entire R&D department. I am particularly pleased that four of the six members of the R&D team are former apprentices of RATTPACK® Flexibles, who have worked both in the laboratory and in production. who completed their training both in the laboratory and in production.
