In the course of the growing awareness of sustainability, we would like to introduce two innovative solutions to you in the following: heat sealing and the water-based high-gloss varnish.

Cold sealing, as the name suggests, is used to seal the packaging without heat. This is necessary for temperature-sensitive products such as chocolate or similar filling goods. However, the cold seal lacquer has a negative effect on the recycling of the packaging and is therefore considered a major disruptive material.

RATTPACK® Flexibles has therefore developed new composites that can be sealed at very low temperature and subsequently recycled. Temperature-sensitive products can now be packaged in an environmentally friendly manner.

UV coating has proven its worth for decades in high-quality packaging. But when it comes to sustainability and recyclability, it comes with major drawbacks. For this reason we are pleased to present our latest development: a water-based high-gloss coating that can be used as an ecological alternative to UV coating.
