Family business with a future: Lisa-Sophia Ratt in the fourth generation

Hello dear readers,

I am Lisa-Sophia Ratt, 25 years old and have been working in our family business for 2.5 years now. After a trainee program where I got to know all the departments, I settled down in the purchasing department. Since January 2025, I can even proudly say that I have taken over the position of Team Leader in the Flexible Unit.

Our company can look back on over 70 years of history. It was founded by my great-grandfather Hugo, who at that time was still processing gray cardboard into shoe boxes as a craft business. With my grandfather took over the management and focused on industrialization: printing, punching and gluing machines expanded the product range. Since 2003, when my dad Stephan Ratt and my uncle Matthias Ratt took over the company, a lot has changed - but the core values have remained the same: Quality, trust, flexibility and strong family cohesion.

A little fun fact on the side: As a 9-year-old girl, I wrote "take over dad's company" in my friends' book for my dream job :-) . So yes, it was clear to me very early on that I wanted to be part of the family business. I practically grew up in and with the company. I've known many of the employees all my life and that's why working in my own company is not just a job for me, but also a matter close to my heart.

I am incredibly proud of what my dad and my uncle have achieved and we will certainly follow in their footsteps. Looking to the future, I hope that our family business will continue to grow and meet the challenges of the times. I hope that we can preserve our tradition and remain innovative at the same time.
